Experience

1. Describe your experience. (Did you find it beneficial? Difficult?) Why or Why not? Would you recommend this to others? Why or Why not?

When listening to the audio on practicing love and kindness and about our breath being important i thought it was okay. It was beneficial in most ways but as i relaxed and tried to focus on doing what the CD was saying to do, my experience was a little messed up because in track three towards the end disturbing screechy static sounds were playing. If i was alone in the night time i am sure i would have flip out thinking spirits were messing with me or something. Other than this learning about the importance of the breath and the control it can have on your mood was a very beneficial thing to learn. I would recommend this to others just not my CD. =)

2. What is the concept of “Mental Workout? What does the research indicate are the proven benefits of a Mental Work Out? How can you implement mental workouts to foster your psychological health?

i believe that the concept of a mental workout is to train your mind to produce positive effects in your life. Benefits of a mental workout would be less stress and better health. Training your mind is good to teach yourself how to deal with outside stressors and by reducing stress and being in control of your emotions a person has a better chance for improving his/her own health. In order to implement mental workouts to foster psychological health one can make a list of what is not important to have in his/her life, ex. parties, and use this party time to train the mind to further psychological health.
